智慧の高い者は「道」を聞くと、それを実践しようと努力します。中程度の智慧の者は「道」を聞くと、半信半疑になります。愚かな者は「道」を聞くと、それを嘲笑します。「道」が嘲笑されないなら、それは真の「道」とは呼べません。
Those of high wisdom, when they hear the "Way", strive to practice it; those of moderate wisdom, when they hear the "Way", are half-believing and half-doubting; the ignorant, when they hear the "Way", mock it. If the "Way" is not mocked, it cannot be called the true "Way".
