That teaching will likely be passed down even after vast ages have gone by.

仏典には、世界が一劫ごとに移り変わるとある。

ぶってんには、せかいがいっこうごとにうつりかわるとある。

Buddhist scriptures say that the world changes with each kalpa.

賊は旅人を劫して金を奪った。

ぞくはたびびとをこうしてかねをうばった。

The bandit threatened the traveler and took his money.

彼は劫するような口ぶりで返事を迫った。

かれはこうするようなくちぶりでへんじをせまった。

He pressed for an answer in a threatening tone.

そんな劫し文句では、だれも従わない。

そんなおどしもんくでは、だれもしたがわない。

No one will obey words of threat like that.

弱い者を劫して奪うのは卑怯だ。

よわいものをおどしてうばうのはひきょうだ。

Threatening the weak and taking what is theirs is cowardly.
